Wetland Regeneration Project at Shotover Country

In collaboration with Shotover primary School we are working together to restore a wetland on the lower tier of the Shotover Country Subdivision.

Work on the wetland will be ongoing over the next ten years and gives opportunities for children to explore this important ecosystem, along with highlighting a range of wider ecological issues.

The project offers our children the chance to work alongside the older children at the school, many of whom they know as previous classmates at Gems.

We started by joining all the Primary School children in a mass planting afternoon, getting to see the wetland for the first time as well as learning how to plant grasses.
