Lovitha is a NZ qualified and registered teacher born and bred in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and moved to Queenstown, New Zealand in 2005 to join her family. She has been very privileged and blessed to call Queenstown her home for the last 15 years. She lives in Shotover Country with her husband Babu and her daughter Sanvikha who currently attends Gems Kōwhai. She is also lucky to have her parents and sister’s family who lives here too. They are her biggest cheerleaders and supporters.

Lovitha holds a Bachelor of Science degree with a specialisation in Mathematics from Malaysia. Lovitha is always passionate about becoming a teacher coming from an extended family of educators back home. This has inspired her to pursue graduate diploma in teaching focused on Primary education. Once graduated, She relieved at local schools for a year when an opportunity to work in an Early Childhood Centre came up and she gave it a go. She discovered that her real passion is working with infants and toddlers. This encouraged her to develop more knowledge on ECE through a Postgraduate in Early Years study with Massey University in 2016 and completed He Papa Tikanga Level 1-3 through Open Wananga. Through her teaching and learning journey, she has been a Teacher, Assistant Team Leader, Assistant Manager, and a Centre Manager working alongside families and children from various background and culture.

Lovitha believes that all tamariki are unique and competent learners who will thrive in a safe and caring environment. Lovitha enjoys working with young tamariki and having a close partnership with whānau building a strong foundation of learning for our future generation of young learners. In her free time, she loves spending time with her family, listening to music, traveling, cooking, reading, and enjoying the nature.
