Aliesha Brash

Teacher, The Hive (Rātā)

Aliesha grew up on a farm about 30 minutes inland of Oamaru, in a place called Ngapara. A lot of her memories involve tailing lambs, eating from the pea paddock, or creating imaginary games in the never-ending back yard which is why she was so drawn to Gems when she heard about Farm School.

Before she studied early childhood, Aliesha went to the Dunedin School of Art. She still creates art now, but her big love is helping to extend creativity and understanding of expressive materials.

Aliesha has been preschool teaching for 6 years now. Her favourite thing about the 4-year-old age group is their curiosity, imagination and unfiltered way of communicating.

In her spare time she enjoys rock climbing, skiing, hiking, painting, spending time with friends and finding new places to eat in Queenstown! ”I’m sure I’ll see you about in the community and please say hi if you do! Mā te wā - see you soon!”
