Night Farm School

  • 64 Alec Robins Road Lake Hayes, Otago, 9371 New Zealand (map)

Our Farm School children and parents will be exploring how the dark affects our feelings about a familiar environment. How is it different? Was it recognizable? How do our feelings change?

Over the last couple of weeks we have been asking the Farm School children what it would be like to come to Farm School in the dark. What would they see?
Bears, Wolves, Bats, Ghosts, Witches and Zombies were all suggested……

Children will be required to come to Night Farm School appropriately dressed from home for the weather conditions on the night as we will not be using our Farm School wet weather clothing. Please bring a torch for yourself and your child, spare batteries would also be a good idea.

We will all meet at the farm, where an area for parking will be provided. After a hot cup of Milo we will follow a marked trail around the farm school route in small groups, watching and listening for night time animals. Will the children recognize their favourite Farm School areas and favourite hiding places?

After our walk we will return for a sausage sizzle and Mulled Wine to warm the adults up!
